Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain geospatial databases using ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and other relevant platforms.
  • Conduct spatial analysis using ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and other GIS software.
  • Create and maintain high-quality maps and cartographic products.
  • Process and interpret geospatial data from various sources, including LiDAR, satellite imagery, and GPS.
  • Develop and implement custom GIS solutions using ArcPy, Python, and ModelBuilder.
  • Perform spatial data modeling and management using geodatabases (file, personal, and enterprise).
  • Undertake field data collection using Survey123 and Field Maps.
  • Support spatial planning and environmental analysis projects.
  • Collaborate with other team members to deliver timely and accurate results.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in GIS technology and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a GIS Analyst or Specialist with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS software suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise).
  • Experience with other GIS software, such as QGIS, is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of spatial analysis techniques and geospatial data modelling.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting (ArcPy) and other scripting languages.
  • Experience working with various geospatial data formats and projections.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and spatial SQL.
  • Experience with GPS and field data collection techniques.
  • Excellent cartographic skills and the ability to produce high-quality maps.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in GIS, Geography, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
